Warehouse manager salary in Australia
If you're looking for a precise 'warehouse manager salary' figure from official sources, you'll find that the Australian Bureau of Statistics does not publish a separate earnings estimate for that occupation. The closest published category is Managers, which includes everyone from retail managers to chief executives. That said, we can still use the available data to give you a sense of where a warehouse manager's pay might sit.
What the ABS says about manager pay
The ABS Employee Earnings and Hours, Australia, May 2025 reports that the average weekly total cash earnings for all managers was $2,800.90. On a 52-week year, that's about $145,647. For full-time non-managerial employees paid at the adult rate, managers averaged $2,688.70 a week ($139,812 a year).
But remember: these are averages across all manager occupations. A warehouse manager is likely to earn less than a corporate executive but more than a retail supervisor. The ABS also tells us that individual arrangement is the most common method of setting pay for managers (38.5% of all employees), meaning many warehouse managers negotiate their salary directly with their employer.
Reading the same pay as a year, a week, and an hour
The on-site tool at Average line lets you enter a yearly salary and see it as a weekly and hourly figure based on a 38-hour week. For example, if you enter the all-managers average of $145,647, you'd get:
- Yearly: $145,647
- Weekly: $2,800.90
- Hourly: $73.71
Compare that to the national full-time adult ordinary-time average of $2,083.70 a week ($108,352 a year) from the ABS Average Weekly Earnings, May 2026. The manager average is about 34% higher.
How warehouse managers compare to other benchmarks
- National full-time average: $2,083.70/week ($108,352/year) – the line on this site.
- Full-time median: about $1,741/week ($90,532/year) – half of full-time workers earn less.
- All-employees median: about $1,425/week ($74,100/year) – includes part-time and casual workers.
- National minimum wage (from 1 July 2026): $26.44/hour, $1,004.90/week, $52,255/year on 38 hours.
A warehouse manager would almost certainly earn above the national minimum wage and above the all-employees median. Whether they exceed the full-time average depends on the specific role, experience, and location.
State differences
Warehouse manager pay can vary by state. The ABS Average Weekly Earnings, May 2026 gives state full-time averages:
- Australian Capital Territory: $119,090/year
- Western Australia: $115,825/year
- New South Wales: $109,658/year
- Victoria: $106,137/year
- Queensland: $106,064/year
- Northern Territory: $103,173/year
- South Australia: $102,450/year
- Tasmania: $96,008/year
If you're a warehouse manager in WA or the ACT, you might expect higher pay due to the mining and public sector influence. See the States and territories page for more detail.
Award coverage and minimums
Many warehouse managers are covered by the Storage Services and Wholesale Award 2020. From 1 July 2026, award minimums increased by 4.75%. The award has classification levels such as 'Warehouse Manager' or 'Store Manager' with specific minimum rates. However, these are minimums – actual pay is often higher, especially for experienced managers. You can check the award on the Fair Work Ombudsman website.
Tax on a warehouse manager salary
For the 2026–27 income year, the resident tax rates are:
- Nil up to $18,200
- 15% from $18,201 to $45,000
- 30% from $45,001 to $135,000
- 37% from $135,001 to $190,000
- 45% above $190,000
Plus the Medicare levy of 2% (before any reductions). A warehouse manager earning, say, $100,000 would pay about $24,967 in tax plus $2,000 Medicare levy, leaving about $73,033 after tax.
Where to find more specific data
Because the ABS doesn't publish a separate warehouse manager figure, you might look at job advertisements or industry surveys. The Job medians page on this site shows medians for broad occupations, but warehouse manager isn't listed separately. For industry-specific data, see Industry medians.
How the figures are set
The national full-time average comes from the ABS Average Weekly Earnings survey, which is published twice a year (May and November). The medians come from the ABS Employee Earnings and Hours survey (latest: August 2025). The minimum wage is set by Fair Work each year. For more on methodology, see How the figures are set.
Summary
While there's no official 'warehouse manager salary' from the ABS, the all-managers average of $2,800.90 a week gives a useful benchmark. Most warehouse managers will earn between the national full-time average ($2,083.70) and the all-managers average, depending on experience, location, and employer. Use the Place a salary on the line tool to see how any figure compares to the national average.
